NOAO has established committees to study and advise on aspects or parts of the ground-based OIR System.
The Ground-based O/IR System Roadmap Committee carried out a community survey and issued a summary report in January 2012.
The ReSTAR (Renewing Small Telescopes for Astronomical Research) committee carried out a community survey and issued a report in January 2008. This committee reconvened and produced an update in August 2010.
The ALTAIR (Access to Large Telescopes for Astronomical Instruction and Research) committee carried out a community survey and issued a report in March 2009.
