Kathy is an Associate Astronomer at CTIO. She is part of the support team of the Dark Energy Camera at the Blanco Telescope and she is in charge of the DECam Calibration System (DECal). She is also the ToO coordinator for DECam. For research, Kathy works on variable stars, mainly RR Lyrae stars and dwarf Cepheid stars, in the Milky Way and its satellites. Her main interest is to use those stars as both standard candles and as tracers of the underlying stellar population. She also has interest in large scale surveys, globular clusters and galactic structure.
